The Route to the Blue Ridge Parkway was very curvy as we climbed. Look closely on the right side picture to see the sun and a bird.

From the pictures you can see why they are called the "blue" mountains.
It was a beautiful friday and we traveled about 1 hour to reach the mountains. We then drove on the parkway for 20 minutes. As you can see the leaves are still on the trees and it is pretty.While in Virginia we traveled to Richmond, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Scotsville, Lexington and Farmville.
There is a lot to see in Virginia and we may be back but not in November since it really was colder than we desired.
